AAPS AND THE NEW SECRETARY OF HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES

Hi American Humans,

Donald Trump’s recent selection of Dr. Tom Price to be Secretary of Health and Human Services has caused me to wonder what has become of you humans. Dr. Price, as expected by a radical right wing Republican, favors destroying Obamacare and promoting the concept that access to medical care is a privilege rather than a right. He also wants to privatize Medicare, and he opposes gun control. All of these are to be expected from a Trump appointment.

But Dr. Price goes a step further. He is a member of the American Association of Physicians and Surgeons (AAPS). The journal of that organization is the Journal of the American Physicians and Surgeons (JPandS). Besides being an extreme right wing organization, AAPS opposes evidence based medicine (medical care based on clinical studies, in other words statistically significant scientific medicine). They promote medical care based only on anecdotal reports (single case reports). In modern medicine, anecdotal reports can be the basis for then subsequently doing controlled scientific studies. They are hardly a substitute for evidence based medicine. Basing all of medicine on anecdotal reports was how it was done in the 19th Century and earlier but not today. Examples of AAPS ideas are opposition to vaccination, opposition to electronic health records, and denying the HIV virus as the cause of AIDS. Their journal is not listed in PUBMED (the NIH search engine for valid health research) because it is not a valid peer reviewed scientific journal. So now the Secretary of Health and Human Services of the United States of America is going to be a member of a pseudo-scientific quackish fringe organization. This is typical Trumpism, a fancy cover but rotten inside. If Dr.Price is to represent health care in America, he should resign from and denounce the AAPS.

ADVICE TO TRUMP

Dear Human Donald Trump,

Let me give you some advice since you are slated to become President of the USA soon, and you say you want to unite America. I know I’m just a dog, but as a domesticated dog I am an astute observer of human behavior. After all, what else do we pets have to do?

You say you want to unify America. I will believe it when I see it. Certainly, your behavior during the campaign did not indicate so. You insulted more than half of the people in America. You can’t spit on people and expect them to love you. So you have to admit that you insulted women, minorities, people of various religions, Gays, and others. Then you have to apologize to them. And you have to reverse yourself and repudiate the bigots in your base, the KKK who support you, the alt right in your inner circle, and the people at your rallies who shouted Nazi slogans like “lugenpresse” and “JewSA.” You also need to admit to your lies about the press being rigged and apologize to the journalists. Also you need to apologize to Hillary Clinton for the lies you told about her.

You also have to repudiate the Tea Party Republicans like Pence and Paul Ryan who want to eliminate taxes on the rich and make the poor and middle class pay the tab.

You also have to stop your love affair with Putin and reassure Europe that America isn’t going to sell them out. You might also admit to whatever ties you have with Putin and Assange concerning hacking into the emails of Clinton and the Democratic Party to get you elected.

Oh, one more thing. Promote stronger gun control laws. How can you honestly pretend to “keep America safe” when you promote a gun anarchy which gives terrorists and screwballs easy access to military style guns to massacre Americans.

Maybe if you do all those things, you might be able to say that you can unite America. But then would you still be Donald Trump?

PROTEST

Hi Humans,
Peaceful protest to let Donald know what the American people think of him is good. Just don't hurt anyone or break anything. That doesn't help. If we dogs had hands and could carry signs, I would be out there waving a sign myself. Donald plays to the crowd. This crowd is critical of his racism, bullying, and his Fascist friends. Let him know that more than half of America opposes him. Keep up the pressure for America, for freedom, for the right cause.

TRUMPCARE = OBAMACARE?

Hi Human Democrats,

So now that Trump will be president, what will become of Obamacare (Affordable health Care)? Well, Obamacare appears to be safe. Trump is now saying he wants to keep a number of Obamacare ideas like not denying insurance for existing health problems and providing insurance for all American humans. But that is Obamacare. Trump says he wants to make it work better, but glitches and necessary adjustments in the system were expected by President Obama, and Hillary Clinton would have made adjustments had she been elected. The importance of Obamacare is not the details, but the fact that you have started on the road of sensible distribution of health care which the Republicans would not have started if left alone. Before Obamacare, Tea party Republicans considered health care a privilege rather than a right. That meant if one could not afford healthcare, one went without care or to a hospital emergency room, which was poor medical care and contributed to driving up the cost of health care. If Trump were to dump Obamacare as some of his Tea Party friends would like, his core blue color working class supporters, many of whom depend on Obamacare would get a sudden kick in the pants. Trump can’t afford to do that.

There are other aspects of a Trump presidency that are more troubling. I will address those later.

A DREAM

Hi Humans of America,

Last night I dreamt that left of center Hillary Clinton won the election and the Republican party reorganized into a right of center party. The future would be two parties debating the real issues in a civil manner, one putting forward progressive ideas and the other saying “just a minute there” to keep progress from running off the tracks. Then I woke up. The dream ended and I entered the nightmare of Donald Trump as president.

TRUMP SUPPORTERS ARE COMMODITIES TO TRUMP

Donald and his Breitbart friends are planning to make money with a "news" media to stir up and represent angry humans. That media will make money from this new movement. They have assigned a dollar value to you because to Donald you are a commodity, just like the students of phony Trump University. Only humans would allow themselves to be played like that. We dogs are smarter.

SOCIALIZATION

Hi Humans,

I admire you humans for your willingness to observe rules. You call it socialization, and you teach it to your children at an early age (by parents and nowadays also in pre-school). We domesticated dogs learn it too. You guys teach it to us (yourselves or in obedience school). Socialization is important to make one’s way in life (for humans or dogs). For a dog it is a matter of survival. If a dog remains so unsocialized that he or she bites humans or defecates on the floor in the house or rips apart the furniture or shows any other destructive actions, that dog could end up in the pound and euthanized (a scary thought). For a human the consequences of inability to socialize are usually not so fatal, but it can certainly affect the quality of life.
Now look at the human, Donald Trump. He seems to be challenged as to socialization. He has plainly said that he can’t stop himself from touching female humans whom he finds attractive. Any criticism causes him to react with little thought. Any flattery will make him your devoted servant. It is amazing that so many humans will follow such an unsocialized leader. Well, this mass human behavior is nothing new. It has happened many times in the past.

VOTE FOR HILLARY

Hi Humans,

So the election is approaching, and it looks like Hillary will win, and Donald will lose. But if you are for Hillary, don’t get complacent, be sure to vote, and advise all your friends to vote for Hillary. Hillary is honest, competent, experienced, and sane. Donald is the opposite. Every time Donald throws out a criticism of Hillary or anyone other than himself, it seems that he is actually talking about his own misdeeds. I think that’s where he gets his ideas.

THE SECOND DEBATE

Hi Humans,

Did you watch the debate last night between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump? Hillary was calm, composed, and presidential as usual. Donald couldn’t stand still. He kept pacing nervously around the stage, looking creepy, and at times following Hillary. As for substance, both essentially said the same stuff they have been saying all along. The one interesting development was Donald saying he disagreed with his running mate Pence concerning the situation in Aleppo. Pence favors intervention, and Donald is an isolationist with no concern for anyone outside his wall. Well, I’ll be happy when November comes and Hillary will be elected president.

CIVILITY

Hi Humans,

As a domesticated dog I admire your human concept of civility. Unlike our cousins in the wild, some of your civility has rubbed off on us domesticated animals because we have been hanging around with you for so many centuries. But we still have our wild doggy instincts that break out no matter how much we want to fit in with you. On the other hand you humans have not lost all of your uncivil behavior, and unfortunately you have the great power to create much greater mischief when you are uncivil. For example, we dogs are not the ones who try to settle our differences with guns and wars. Now in the present US elections, look at Donald Trump. He seems to be unable to control his instincts no matter how much he tries. Donald needs to go to obedience school.

APPEARANCE VERSUS TRUTH

Hi Humans,

The television humans said Pence won the Vice President Debate because he looked more presidential than Kaine. On the other hand, Kaine spoke the truth, and Pence did not tell the truth. When Kaine brought up dumb things that Trump said and Pence parroted, Pence denied that he or Trump said them, but the truth was plainly evident when one looks back at what was said. It seems in judging the debate appearance trumps the truth. Oh well, Hillary is winning anyway, and that’s what really counts. By the way, we are still waiting to see Donald's tax returns.

SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE

Hi Humans,

Did you see Saturday Night Live last night. Of course the elections were front and center. The show started with a great parody of the debate. The best joke I heard was during a later segment, a parody of Family Feud featuring the Trump family and friends versus the Clinton family and friends. The joke was presented by Larry David playing Bernie Sanders. It went something like “Hillary is like prune juice. She doesn’t taste so good right now, but she will prevent you getting clogged up with 4 years of crap later on.” I didn’t see the rest of the show because I had to go to bed (the show comes on at 11:30 PM here in Los Angeles), but I am sure I missed plenty of good stuff.

WHERE DOES TRUMP GET HIS INSPIRATION?

Hi Humans,

It seems that whenever Trump says something derogatory about Hillary Clinton, he is talking about his own inadequacies.

He says “crooked Hillary” when he is the real crook. Look at Trump University where he stole money from vulnerable humans.

He condemns the Clinton Foundation which is a real charity that really does good deeds, but his Trump Foundation is mainly a front organization which benefits Trump himself financially.

He brings up Bill Clinton’s philandering, but Hillary Clinton is the one running for president, not Bill, and Trump himself has been an obsessive philanderer.

Trump made a big deal about Hillary’s stamina. Hillary showed complete stamina throughout the 90 minute debate, but Trump quickly fell apart. One could see the comparison clearly in the split screen.

So, anytime Trump criticizes Hillary, one needs to examine Trump to find the source.

TERRORIST BOMBINGS IN NEW YORK AND NEW JERSEY

Hi Humans,

Congratulations to the New York city and state police, to the New Jersey state police, to the FBI, and anyone else involved in catching the terrorist who set off the bombs in New York and New Jersey a few weeks ago. This illustrates how diversity and tolerance help keep America safe. In Europe which has a long history of isolating minorities, the radical Islamic terrorists are able to hide in their separated communities. In America, which is a nation of immigrants, immigrant minorities are accepted and reciprocate with loyalty to America. The bomber was found in a doorway. He had nowhere to hide. Now if only we could end the gun anarchy, that would make America even more safe.

Congratulations on a successful showing at the debate last night. You appeared calm, comfortable, focused, and presidential. Trump appeared uncomfortable, fidgety, defensive, and his usual crazy self. Good work!

HOW TO UNDERSTAND HUMAN LANGUAGE

Hi Humans, Dogs, and Other Creatures,
Here are some ideas that might help in understanding the language of humans:
1. When a human prefaces a sentence with "believe me," do not believe the sentence.
2. When a human says, "don't worry," then you should worry.
3. When a human says he has a plan, but he won't tell you what the plan is, that mean he has no plan.
4. When a human will not release his income tax return, that means he is hiding something in that return that he does not want you to see.
5. When a human dwells on "toughness," that means inside he feels weak.
6. When a human claims he will do "great things" without saying specifically how he intends to those things, that means he has nothing to offer.
7. Humans outside of the "establishment" are not necessarily any more honest than those inside the "establishment." But they might be less knowledgeable.
The list goes on and on, but a general rule of thumb is that whatever a human says consider the opposite. The opposite might be the truth.

Hi Human Hillary Clinton,
So tomorrow you are facing Tricky Trumpy in a debate. Just be yourself and you will do well. Remember you are the honest, competent, experienced, rational statesperson. Tricky Trumpy is the dishonest, incompetent, inexperienced, irrational television huckster and crook. Of course no matter what nonsense falls out of his mouth, his faithful will spin it as pearls of wisdom. But most Americans will see through him. They only have to show up at the polls.

CALIFORNIA PROPOSITION 63 OF 2016

Hi California Humans,
I recommend voting for California Proposition 63 in 2016. It will protect the public from the illegal transferring of bullets. If bullets can be prevented from getting into the hands of criminals, terrorists, and screwballs who want to do harm to their fellow humans, the State of California will be a safer place in which to live. Of course the NRA and the gun anarchists oppose the proposition because the gun lobby wants to sell as many guns and bullets as they can no matter how much harm they cause.

Trump and his Republican friends still deny climate change contrary to proven science. So Donald Trump wants to take away the guns from Hillary Clinton’s Secret Service body guards, but he also wants to maintain a gun anarchy in which any screwball can buy any kind of gun to commit murder. And he claims to be the “law and order” candidate? Even a little dog like me can see his hypocrisy. Why are so many of you humans with your supposed big brains so gullible?

TOUGHNESS

Hi Humans,

When Mom and Dad take me with them on their annual stay at our Chicago apartment, Dad takes me down in the elevator a few times a day so I can relieve myself (no doggie door up there). Sometimes I have to share the elevator with a big ferocious looking dog. When that happens, I meekly hide behind Daddy. Then as the big dog exits the elevator I start barking to show the big dog I am really tough.

Similarly, we saw Donald Trump meekly meeting with the president of Mexico. Later in the day when he was back in the USA playing to his faithful, again he belched out his usual tough nonsense about building the wall and making Mexico pay for it (which of course they would never do).

More recently when he started blasting Clinton to a stony faced sparse audience in a Black church in Flint, Michigan, he was reminded by the pastor that he was not there to make a political speech. He meekly complied. Then the next day, when he was safely back in his element, he complained about the pastor (even though she went out on a limb for allowing him to have a photo-op at her church).

Now I can do that sort of thing because I am just a little dog, but Trump is a human with a supposedly big brain who pretends to be qualified to run for President of the USA.

TRUMP THE DRAFT DODGER

Hi Humans,

When duty called during the Vietnam War, Trump dodged the draft (his rich father’s connections didn’t hurt). When asked, he says he served his country by making money as a real estate developer. Hillary Clinton served her country as an advocate for the poor and disadvantaged since the beginning of her adult life. She also served as a senator and as secretary of state. Recently she attended a memorial to honor the victims of 9/11 even though she was ill with pneumonia. It is obvious even to this little dog, "who is more fit to be president?" It should be obvious to you humans with your big brains.

By the way, Trump still will not release his tax returns. What is he hiding?

IS THE SYSTEM RIGGED?

Some of you humans say “the system is rigged” whenever things don’t go as you want them to go. After all, the alternative is to take responsibility for an outcome that does not suit you. The best example is Professor Trump. To Trump, when he is losing in the polls it can’t be because he is a bigot or a liar or inadequate or a loser. Therefore the system must be rigged against him. We dogs (and humans) support Hillary Clinton because she faces up to reality. She faces real problems with real solutions. She thinks through problems carefully for the public good. Trump lives in reality television where the truth is a commodity to be manipulated for personal gain. We dogs live in the real world. I hope most of you humans realize that you live here too.

WHY CLINTON IS WINNING AND TRUMP IS LOSING

Hi Humans,

Trump and his surrogates continue to harp on Clinton’s emails and Ben Ghazi, without any proof of guilt. They do it because they don’t have anything substantive to say. Put aside the Trump University scam, Trump’s bribing of the Florida Attorney General, the Trump Modeling Agency scam, the many bankruptcies leaving others holding the bag, stiffing contractors, belching out bigotry to appeal to his base, and favoring tyrants. Clinton is seasoned, knowledgeable, focused, honest, and prepared. Trump is scattered, unprepared, egotistical, and unpredictable. Clinton is favored by minorities because she has worked with them for decades. Clinton is favored by solid corporate America because she promotes a well regulated orderly market place with concern that all strata of the community share in its benefits. Trump and the tea party favor deregulation for the quick buck artists who collapsed America’s economy 7 ½ years ago (until President Obama came in and saved capitalism). No wonder Trump is behind. As Abraham Lincoln said, “You can fool all of the people some of the time and some of the people all of the time, but you can’t fool all the people all the time.” That’s why Trump is behind.

TRUMP LIES AND INSULTS

Trump can tell any lie or insult anyone who displeases him because of their race, religion, or ethnicity, and he is just “Trump being Trump”. But when Hillary Clinton says half of Trump’s supporters are “deplorable,” Trump’s surrogates jump all over her. Well, the number might not be mathematically exact, but otherwise it is THE TRUTH. Trump started his campaign by appealing to bigots, and Stephen Bannon of the white supremacist Alt Right movement now runs his campaign. And there is no double standard against Hillary?

GOOD AND BAD IN ISRAEL/PALESTINE

Hi Humans,

As a politically slightly left of center, religiously non-fundamentalist, American Jewish Zionist little dog, I am concerned about the extremism pulling apart human Jews in Israel, America, and the rest of the world as well as all the other humans in Israel/Palestine, America, and the rest of the world. Leaving out us dogs and other conscious creatures (as usual), the Left claims to speak for the welfare of all humans, but the extreme left is unfortunately selective as to which humans’ welfare counts. For example, “black lives matter” is a noble cause, but the organization that calls itself Black Lives Matter has recently digressed from their primary cause of ‘black lives matter” by bashing Israel in its charter. I also have issues with the present rightist government in Israel and with the settler movement, but to single out Israel and ignore the much more serious issues in its surrounding neighborhood is wrong. And don’t say anti-Zionism is not anti-semitism. After all who lives in Israel? It’s inhabitants are not non-specific aliens from outer space.

On the other hand, I find it increasingly difficult to defend policies of the government of Israel that support the settlers in taking land away from the Palestinians. The Arabs in the territories crave and deserve hope for self-government, and they deserve dignity. Unfortunately, there is a growing minority of human Jews in Israel who believe that God is a real estate agent who wants them to own all of the Land of Israel/Land of Palestine. That point of view is wrong, untenable, harmful to the Jewish people both in Israel and the Diaspora, and promotes the worst on the Palestinian side, just as BDS goes against the best and promotes the worst in Israel.

On the other hand there are many Arabs (maybe most) and their friends who never accepted the legitimacy of the State of Israel and view the Jews as interlopers. Therefore to them, killing Jews is just and Jews retaliating in self-defense is unjust.

The light at the end of the tunnel is that a just accommodation between both people (not just governments) would benefit both sides. Jews and Arabs both exist and will not go away. They actually have common interests. The Palestinians, if they are willing, can offer the real peace to Israel that was the original purpose of Zionism. Israel can offer to the Palestinians education, prosperity, and a window to globalism. To some extent that is already happening.

The good in Israel outshines the bad, but the bad muddies one’s ability to extol the good.

NEGATIVE CHARGES AGAINST BOTH CANDIDATES

Hi Humans,

 

Let’s look at the negative charges in the election.

Hillary Clinton:

1.    Clinton Foundation criticized for accepting contributions while she was in public office; provides health care to disadvantaged humans in Africa and other undeveloped areas of the world

2.    Email irregularities; done for convenience in a busy schedule. Hillary has acknowledged the error. The FBI has shown no reason for legal action.

3.    Ben Ghazi: Hillary acted correctly, sustained a grilling by a Republican witch hunt commission which could not demonstrate any wrong doing.

            Donald Trump:

1.    Trump University: a scam to extract money from vulnerable humans, still in court, Trump falsely accused the judge of being partial because he has a Spanish surname.

2.    Habit of bankrupting businesses, leaving others holding the bag.

3.    Stiffing small businesses he hired, often causing them to go out of business.

4.    Sending work out of the country to get cheap labor.

5.    His model agency imported undocumented models from out of the country, instructed them on how to avoid detection, and took advantage of them by charging them exorbitant rent and keeping them indentured.

6.    He bribed the attorney general of Florida to get her to drop the charges against Trump University in Florida.

7.    He won’t release his income tax returns probably because he is hiding something.

            So, all in all, the charges against Trump involved personal monetary gain and 

             against Clinton did not involve monetary personal gain. So tell me humans with  

             your big brains which is worse?

TRUMP UPSIDE DOWN

Dear Human Mr. Kaepernick,

I have to disagree with you. You have the right to say or not say whatever you want in the USA. I don't dislike you for what you did. It's your right just as it is my right to not validate you (not that you need or want a validation from a little dog like me). No nation is perfect, but all in all the USA is a pretty good place for humans to live in, better than most. I am opposed to Trump and his Trumpers because they are bigots and because they put down the real America as it is today under the presidency of Barack Obama (whom I consider the greatest president of our time and perhaps of all time). I assume, Mr. Kaepernick, you have good intentions, but I also see you as a Trump upside down.

TRUMP IN DETROIT

Hi Humans,

Trump has many faces and many voices. Now we see Trump at an African American church in Detroit. Interestingly, he speaks with great gusto and conviction blasting minorities when he belches out to his faithful (White and bigoted) humans. But he speaks quietly, politely, robotically, uncomfortably when he reads from his prepared speech in the African American church. This little dog can see through Trump’s duplicity. I hope enough of you humans with your big brains can do the same.

THE WALL, ETC.

Hi Humans,
The photo-op showed Trump meeting with the President of Mexico, but the outcome seems to indicate they were at different meetings. Trump said they didn't discuss who would pay for "the wall," but the President of Mexico said he insisted Mexico would not pay for it (why would you expect Mexico to do something so dumb?). However the Mexican President did bring up the problem of American guns being smuggled into Mexico to the drug cartels. Of course that is something Trump omitted from his version of the meeting. After all that wouldn't set well with his base who are gun anarchists besides being bigots. You can't say one thing to your crazies and something else to the rest of America. I think there are enough rational humans in America to see through Trump and vote for Hillary Clinton, the rational, consistent, and knowledgeable candidate for President of the United States.

THE TRUMP SHOW CONQUERS MEXICO

Hi Humans,
Come one! Come all! Come see Professor Trump and his traveling road show as they arrive victoriously in Mexico. Clowns, jugglers, beautiful undocumented models from the Trump Modeling Agency. All the wonders of the universe will be revealed by the all knowing Professor Trump, glorious leader of the infamous Trump University. Professor Trump might even reveal his secret income tax returns for your viewing pleasure. And of course the humans of Mexico will loudly proclaim, "Welcome Professor Trump! Build your wall as high as the Heavens! We will stand in awe of your great achievement!"
You know, Professor Trump, you can fool your gullible followers. But I am a dog, and a dog is not so easily fooled.

TRUMP'S PSEUDO-PRESIDENTIAL FACE

Hi Humans,
You know we dogs don't have facial expressions like you humans do. You can force yourself to look happy when you're sad or sad when you're happy. But our dog faces are the same no matter what. We wag out tails to show emotion, and we never fake it. Now look at Trump. He puts on  that fake serious face which he thinks makes him look presidential. And his faithful believe him. But you  can't fool a dog, at least not this one. Trumps pseudo-serious face is so obviously fake that one wonders how any human (with your supposedly big brain) can take Trump seriously.

President Obama saved capitalism from the economic collapse brought on by the economic anarchy of the preceding administration. Since then the President has slowly improved the economy by reining in the quick buck artists who took advantage of the preceding anarchy. Hillary Clinton will continue to grow the economy in an orderly fashion in a way that will benefit all Americans, not just a few billionaires at the top. That is why many humans in corporate America favor Clinton over Trump. They realize that an orderly economy is in their best interests, and they realize that benefitting the people at all levels of the economic scale is good for business. They are beginning to realize that the chaos of economic anarchy as proposed by Trump and the Tea Party are not so good after all.

IS TRUMP REALLY A GOOD NEGOTIATOR?

Hello Professor Trump,
You claim you are a hard negotiator and that you always make the best deal. Yet, you have already conceded Russia's annexation of Crimea. Now it is unlikely that Ukraine will get Crimea back, but a strong negotiator would not just hand it over before even starting a negotiation. At least you would want a firm commitment and action by Russia that it will not support the rebels in eastern Ukraine and that Ukraine's eastern border is fixed. You might also demand that Russia give a substantial sum of money to Ukraine in return for Crimea. And Russia should understand that any violation of Ukraine's eastern border or of any country on its western border would put the status of Crimea back into question. Also this should be done in consultation with NATO including the Eastern European NATO members.
Otherwise how can you claim to be such a great negotiator?

When are we going to see your tax returns. If there were something there that you could be proud of, a loud mouth like you would be blurting it out ad nauseam. Obviously you must be hiding something. INHERITANCE TAX

Hi Professor Trump,

You said in one of your blurts that as president you would do away with the “Death Tax” to help the Middle Class. I assume you mean the inheritance tax. Are you aware that the inheritance tax in the USA today is on an inheritance of at least $5.45 million for an individual and at least $10.9 million for a married couple. Either you are woefully uninformed or (more likely) you are trying to pull a fast one on your faithful followers (like you did on the Trump University students). I suspect that most of your blue collar white followers do not have 5.45 or 10.9 million dollars to pass on to their children, but your super-rich friends do. If there is no inheritance tax for the super-rich billionaires, that money will have to come from someone else, and who might be the someone else? Of course, the guy who has less than 5 or 10 million dollars to pass on to his children, in other words your gullible followers.

You claim to be the “Law and Order Candidate?” If that were true you would favor gun control. Instead you pander to the NRA and the gun anarchists. MORE GUNS = MORE GUN MURDERS. The USA is not a reality show. Humans and other creatures who are shot dead by gun violence don’t get up when the show is over. They are just dead. COAL?

Dear Professor Trump,

In a recent speech to humans in an industrial area impacted by changing technology, you promoted a return to coal as an energy source. Professor, you must realize that the emissions from fossil fuels (especially cough, cough coal) are making the air less breathable and are driving global warming which in turn is creating droughts and by melting the polar ice caps is raising the water level of the oceans which will obliterate coastal lands, not to mention other environmental catastrophes which will impact on the food supply. But Professor Trump, you are always looking for the quick fix instead of the long term solution. Once your fellow humans are smacked in the face by the disaster you have created and can no longer deny it, you will be gone and they will have to run up hill to fix the mess. This is an issue that especially concerns me because we dogs have to breathe the same air as you humans and drink the same water as you humans.

Anyway, the humans who have lost jobs in the coal industry have lost those jobs because coal is being replaced by new and better technologies. That is what capitalism and free markets are. The answer is not to go backward. Instead as new technologies emerge the answer for the displaced workers is to retrain or move to where the jobs are. So Professor Trump, I invite you to come over to the Little Dog University, where you will find a more up to date curriculum than what is offered at Trump University.

REALITY TV AMERICA?

To understand Trump, remember he is a reality TV human. Reality TV blurs the difference between fiction and reality. In reality TV, reality is manipulated to attract the interest of the audience and in that way make money for the humans who produce the show. That is what Trump has recently done to the Republican Party and is attempting to do to the American people. That is what Professor Trump did to the students of Trump University. Trump University was a reality show that bore some appearance of a school, but was actually a sham. So, American Humans, do you want to live in a Trump pseudo-reality America or the real America that Hillary Clinton is best qualified to lead?

HILLARY IS MOST QUALIFIED TO BE PRESIDENT

Since I am a dog I can’t vote, but if I were a human and could vote I would vote for Hillary Clinton. She is honest, intelligent, and focused. Trump tells any lie that pops into his head, pretends to be smarter than he is, and appears to suffer from attention deficit. Hillary promotes an economic policy that combines a long term strategy of controlled sustainable business growth which includes all strata of the community. Trump promotes an economy for the quick buck artists and smoke and mirrors for the common person. Hillary represents the best in America. Trump panders to the bigots. Hillary acknowledges mistakes and learns from them. Trump thinks he is perfect, never admits to doing anything wrong, and blames all his failures on others (“the system is rigged”). So, Humans, who do you think is the most qualified to be president of the USA? Isn’t it obvious?

PLATFORM OF BLACK LIVES MATTER

Hi Humans,

I believe that Black lives matter (as I believe that all life matters). A few days ago a group that calls itself Black Lives Matter wrote a platform, and in that platform they accused the State of Israel of “genocide” against the Palestinian people. As a Jewish dog (I live in a Jewish home), I must take issue with that part of their platform.

First of all, it is blatantly untrue. Genocide as committed by Germany against the Jews of Europe killed 6 million Jewish humans and was intended to eradicate all the Jews in Europe and ultimately in the World. The Ottoman Empire committed genocide in rounding up and killing 1.5 million Armenians in an organized manner. No such organized massive killing has occurred in Israel/Palestine. There have been repeated conflicts, usually started by the Palestinians and finished by Israel, in which there have been civilian deaths on both sides but not on a scale which could be called genocide. There have been more deaths on the Palestinian side. However it is not a game which has to be evenly counted. There is guilt on both sides.

Second of all, what does Israel/Palestine have to do with Black Lives Matter? There are Black Jews on the Israel side and Black Moslems on the Palestine side. Neither side has a racial monopoly. The Whites who make up the majorities on both sides are probably more closely related to each other racially than to any other humans in the world. All the Israelis and Palestinians, Black or White, probably are related historically. So the Israel/Palestine dispute is not racial. Also, why do you want to alienate Jewish Americans, most of whom are on your side?

Third, why do you only single out the faults of Israel? I will concede that faults exist. I am no fan of the settler movement on the West Bank. But I did not see in the platform any mention of the murder and mayhem committed by ISIS against anyone who does not toe the line, or of the government of Syria that has killed thousands of its citizens, or of Russia that has propped up that Syrian government and helped in the killing. The list of evils in the world goes on and on but left out of your platform. The occupation of the West Bank is not a good thing, but at the moment it is a place of tranquility in comparison to many of the nearby Arab countries.

Fourth, maybe I missed it, but I did not read anything about gun control in the platform. Any proposed solution that leaves out gun control is not a solution but just venting. Strict gun laws would go a long way in saving Black lives (also any other life). A policeman in a high crime area would have a less itchy trigger finger if he did not have to worry that the citizen being detained might be about to shoot him. Also fewer Black citizens would find themselves in the cross fire of gang warfare. And don’t give me that Second Amendment crap. That’s just code for gun anarchy so the gun lobby can make a quick buck.

So Humans (Black or White), you probably don’t want to take advice from a little Jewish dog like me, but that’s what I think.
